coach on skids, around 1790, 185 x 220 x 155 mm, wood, extremely rare Dutch object, 2-pieces- copper element and top, good condition, small flaked off parts and retouching, leather carry straps and window glass were replaced, supplemented with a small wax doll- probably the wheels were replaced by skids because the wheels were determinative of the tax assessment, it is understood that the skids were wrapped with oil soaked clothes by a coachman for a tip, to make the journey more passable, a similar pieces can be found in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
